Reigning Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed in a statement that Lesedi Kapinga has joined the ‘Brazilians’ on a five-year deal.
Kapinga was released early by Black Leopards to allow the player to join Sundowns before the end of the 2019/2020 season.
The 25-year old attacking midfielder was released by Leopards after his contract with the club expired at the end of last month.
Kapinga has been amazing for Lidoda Duvha this season and he was heavily linked with Gauteng clubs, Sundowns, SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates.

Kapinga was enjoying his breakthrough season in the PSL before the campaign was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic last March.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported that Sundowns welcomed back five personnel (staff and players) who been infected with the Covid-19 virus. The personnel spent 14 days in self-isolation before they were tested again.
Among the five, players who tested positive for the virus had to undergo further medical tests, cardiology and pulmonology, which revealed that there was no cause for concern.
After this medical clearance, the personnel rejoined the rest of the team on Tuesday 21 July.
The medical team has cleared the players for training and the spirit in the camp remains high as everyone is working hard in preparation for the remainder of the current season.
