Like, I’m not a professional gymnastics judge, but gonna go ahead and give this 10/10 for flawless execution and an unparalleled level of talent.

As a reminder, Simone was the first woman to land the Yurchenko Double Pike in May 2021. After completing the move, Simone told NBC Sports that she mentally prepared for the moment by reminding herself she’d done it before: “I was like, ‘It’s OK, I’ve done this so many times. I’ve been doing this for months now.'”

ESPN reports that the vault has “never been attempted by any woman at the Olympics before,” so this is about to be a huge moment in Simone’s already incredible career.

P.S. ESPN also notes that Simone included her other signatures moves during Olympics practice (which are named after her)—aka the double-double dismount off beam, the triple-double on floor, and the double layout-half.
