Birthday parties mean cake, balloons, singing, and apparently, hanging out with your ex (???). It seems like Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich continue to be on friendly terms because the two were spotted together at Julianne’s 32nd birthday party on July 25.
Partygoer and Julianne’s BFF, Nina Dobrev, shared videos and pics from the fun affair. The sun was shining on all of their smiling faces as they celebrated Julianne’s special day. But, the eyebrow-raising moment came when Julianne jumped into the pool to seemingly swim with Brooks.
Nina posted the sweet video to Instagram, writing, “Now that’s how you stick a landing.” LOL. But, in all seriousness, it’s nice to see that Julianne and Brooks still have some sort of relationship. It was devastating to learn that they were separating after two years of marriage.
They made the announcement via a statement to People, where they explained the details of their separation. “We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate,” they explained in a joint statement. “We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward.”
But, a source told Us Weekly that Julianne isn’t coping well with their split. “Julianne’s not doing great right now and feels like her brunette hair is a reflection of her feelings,” the insider said. “She is super upset.”

She usually sports blonde (sometimes red) locks, but has recently been keeping her hair darker after briefly dying her hair pink. The good news is that at her party, she wrote that she was “Feeling super loved right now!”
We hope that feeling lasts.
