Was I Happy When Sasuke Killed Orochimaru?

Introduction

This is just me but I at least accepted it as a way for the plot to move forward. Whatever your opinion of Orochimaru ishe’s creepydo not forget that the great Shinobi countries are no better. Why should they be held on the same standard of judgment as we put Orochimaru in?

At first I was happy. But then I realized that there was no way that they could ever kill off Orochimaru. As a character, he was too prepared. And even after Sasuke seemingly kills him, we get a few hints that he wasn't actually or fully dead. We later get confirmation of this in Boruto; Orochimaru returns as the parent of Mitsuki. However, Orochimaru does look much more feminine now, but he's still the creepy snake dude.

The Polarizing Moments

This moment in the series is so polarizing because on one hand, Sasuke didn't turn into a body-bitch controlled by Orochimaru. But on the other hand, I really hate this scene because in part one of the series, Orochimaru was an imposing character on another level than any other except maybe Jiraiya and Tsunade. Jiraiya actually said that Naruto in his Four Tails version really messed him up. It was so awesome and so cool to see Orochimaru holding his own against him without any jutsu. We really don't know what Orochimaru is capable of, and to see him go out this way feels poorly done.

It feels like Orochimaru was saying:

Orochimaru: This is a jutsu that I have perfected through years of studying and experimenting.
Sasuke: Oh wow that's neat.
Orochimaru: Yes it is neat and now through the power of this I will be able to take control of your body in no way sexual, and be able to have a body that has a Sharingan. Now, young man, are you ready? Mwahahahaha.
Sasuke: OK I see that you have been working on this a long time and that's cool but... listen... I have Sharingan so that means I can beat anything that you have worked for.
Orochimaru: What NO YOU CAN'T!!!
Sasuke: Oh and because I have the Sharingan, I can reverse this, so now it is YOU that is mine and I don't mean that in any way sexual. Moreover, I will never use any of your vast amount of jutsu. Like ever! :P

Conclusion

While I was briefly happy at the death of Orochimaru, his return seemed to spoil it. Although his presence now is still creepy, it does not feel nearly as devastating as it once did. It's a bittersweet moment that has left me questioning the direction of the series.
