Top Recommendations for Class 10 Board Preparation and Study Tips
Preparing for the Class 10 board exams can be an overwhelming task. With the right resources and strategies, the journey becomes a lot more manageable. In this article, we will explore the best guides and study tips for each subject, based on personal experiences and recommendations. This will help you ensure you score the best possible results.
English
For English, the All in One NCERT is highly recommended. It covers all the essential topics and provides a comprehensive understanding of the subject. While going through the NCERT books, make sure to practice each question in All in One for additional exercises. Taking multiple readings of the NCERT chapters from the reference book and completing sample papers from Arihant will further enhance your preparation.
Science
Science can be challenging, but with the right resources, it can be a piece of cake. The Lakhmir Singh series is the most recommended book, especially for those who might be struggling with the subject. It saved the author from a tough journey and provided all the necessary practice questions. If you are a coaching student, the coaching material is sufficient. However, even a coaching student who used these books successfully scored 93/100 after scoring 47/80 initially. It exemplifies how consistent practice can lead to remarkable improvement.
Hindi
For Hindi, All in One NCERT is a solid choice. It covers all the essential topics and provides a strong foundation. Answer framing is a crucial aspect, and it is recommended to focus on it to score consistently. Trust that the NCERT 4 books alone are enough to achieve a perfect score. No additional reference books are needed.
Social Science (SST)
Social Science can be more straightforward if you rely on the right resources. Digraj Sir's videos are highly recommended, and the NCERT books are sufficient for the entire syllabus. With consistent practice and understanding the exam, you can easily score 100. Watching the videos and referring to NCERT will make the language part of the subject much easier.
Mathematics
For Mathematics, while Shivdas sample paper is a good resource for previous year questions, the subject-specific nature of mathematics means that broader preparation is needed. A mixed approach, combining Shri Dinesh Verma's books and SOLVENDO MATHEMATICS, will provide a strong foundation. I personally didn't find much value in recommending a specific book, but Shri Dinesh Verma's books are highly rated and helpful.
Information Technology (IT)
Information Technology (IT) is relatively straightforward, and the IT Book alone is sufficient. Focusing on the exam and tracking it will help you cover the necessary topics. There are many optional questions, so make sure you understand the relevant topics thoroughly. A targeted approach will ensure you cover the exam with ease.
Personal Study Journey
The author started the preparation in the last few months, focusing on English throughout the year by reading the All in One NCERT multiple times and doing sample papers from Arihant. Hindi came naturally as it was part of the Hindi Olympiad. Mathematics was also given a thorough study throughout the year. For Social Science, the author relied on Digraj Sir's videos and their own school notes, reading each chapter multiple times from NCERT to grasp the concepts. In Science, the author initially struggled but used Lakhmir Singh to gain a clear understanding and improved significantly.
These strategies and resources can help you navigate the Class 10 board exams with confidence. Tailor the suggested study plan to suit your needs and understanding of each subject.
