Strategies for Achieving High Scores in 10th Board Exams: Practical Tips from a Successful Student

Whether you're a top student or an average learner, achieving optimal scores in 10th board exams can be challenging. I am an average student who recently scored 91 out of 100 in my 10th board exams. My experience has shown me that consistency and the right resources can make a significant difference. Below, I share my strategies for success in key subjects: Mathematics, Science, SST (Social Studies), Hindi, and English. While my tips are based on personal experiences, they should be supplemented with your own inputs and approaches.

Mathematics

For Mathematics, following experienced educators like Ushank Sir on YouTube or Science Fun can greatly assist you. Ushank Sir provides comprehensive guidance and quality practice. As for textbooks, choose either RD Sharma or RS Aggarwal based on your goals. If you're aiming for olympiads, opt for RD Sharma, while RS Aggarwal is ideal for scoring in the 10th board exams. Don't neglect previous year questions (PYQs), as CBSE often asks direct questions from these.

Science

Science, particularly Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, requires a blend of class explanations, note-taking, and practice. For Chemistry and Physics, watch detailed lectures on YouTube and create notes that include formulas and tables. Don't ignore the activities provided in the NCERT text, as they often align with exam questions. For Biology, regular revision is key. Aim to study biology for at least three days a week. After every two chapters, solving a good question bank will enhance your understanding.

SST (Social Studies)

SST, as taught by Digraj Singh Rajput Sir, is a subject that benefits from an in-depth understanding and practice. Carefully read the NCERT text and mark important points and questions as you go along. In my experience, self-written notes were extremely helpful in achieving a perfect score in this subject.

Hindi

Hindi is a subject that many find easy to score well in. To improve your skills, follow respected educators like Akash Sir, who delves deep into chapters and helps you experience them. For comprehensive practice, solve previous year questions (PYQs) and focus on grammar. Watching detailed lectures from channels like Hindi Adhyapak can provide valuable insights and explanations.

English

English can be highly scoring if you follow a structured approach. After the detailed lectures from the respected Dear Sir, practice previous year questions (PYQs) from the past five years. His marathon sessions are particularly helpful.

General Tips for Success

Here are some secret tips to help you achieve your goals:

Stay Ahead of the Class: Always be ahead of the teacher in terms of your studies so that classroom lectures serve as revision classes. Avoid Unhealthy Competition: Don't share your study routine with friends to prevent unhealthy competition. Dedicated Practice: Practice math daily for around two hours to build a strong command on the subject. Revision Regularly: Regularly revise all subjects, especially Biology, to ensure a solid grasp of the material. Detailed Note-Taking: Create concise and detailed notes for easy revision.

Ultimately, achieving high scores in 10th board exams requires hard work and dedication. By following these tips and making consistent effort, you can set yourself up for success.

Best of luck!
