Is Anyone Shocked Like Me After Seeing the NEET 2019 Results?

The NEET 2019 results sparked a storm of reactions and discussions, particularly common among competitive exams in India. Many students and parents expressed shock and disappointment, especially when their expectations were not met. Discussing the difficulty of the exam, preparation strategies, and performance trends compared to previous years, this article will delve into the emotions and experiences shared by many aspirants.

Personal Experiences

One student's story is quite telling. The individual was already prepared for a bad result with a score of 625, which included just 300 marks in biology, courtesy of two wrong answers by NTA. The student speculates that the exam conditions during NEET were unfavorable, with too many direct questions. It was widely known that the 2019 NEET paper was easier compared to NEET 2018, leading to a potential drop in ranks. The student thought their rank could be between 800 to 1200 based on their score. Unfortunately, the actual results were a stark contrast.

On the day of the results, which was 5th June, the site announced results would be out by 4 PM, but they came in around 2 PM. The student's first shock was when a friend announced they got a 660 score and 515 rank, far better than what the student expected. Upon checking their own results, the student received a 3460 rank, a second major shock. The student expressed amusement at the experience, attributing it to the better AIIMS result (317 rank). They expressed a request to NTA to maintain the dignity of the NEET examination and avoid making it too easy.

Other Common Experiences

Another student shared their story, highlighting the disappointment in the NEET results. Despite the high stakes, they made several silly mistakes, resulting in a score of 636. When they found out their NEET rank was 2110, they were not satisfied. The student then focused on the next hope, JIPMER. However, their JIPMER rank of 324 was also below their expectations. They then considered JIPMER Karaikal, but reality hit with their final blow. Their AIIMS rank was 204, significantly better than expected, but it was the only hope left.

Theaiim 2019 examination saw many bright medical aspirants with top ranks. The ease of the physics section in the NEET paper compared to Class 12th exams added to the frustration. Moreover, the biology answer key, created by experts, did not follow the NCERT guidelines, further spoiling the examination. This combination of events led to a complete overhaul of aspirations for many students.

Conclusion

The NEET 2019 results revealed a complex mix of disappointment, confusion, and hopes dashed among medical aspirants. It highlights the need for NTA to strike a balance between ensuring fairness and making the exam too easy. Future aspirants are advised to remain vigilant and aware of such fluctuations to prepare more effectively.
