Introducing the Children to a Range of Ideas

My journey as a parent began with the decision to introduce my children to a variety of religious ideas without imposing my own beliefs. I accompanied my sons to Unitarian-Universalist religious studies classes, but these sessions were designed to be comprehensive and educational rather than indoctrinational.

We would attend meetings together and learn to discern truth from falsehood, fear-mongering, and manipulation.

Once they reach adulthood, the decision would be entirely theirs to make. We believe that autonomy and the right to choose one's own path are fundamental principles of personal growth and development.
