Overcoming Adversity: My NEET Prep Journey and Final Score

Overcoming Adversity: My NEET Prep Journey and Final Score

In this article, I will share my personal journey during the final two months of my NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) preparation, focusing on my scores, emotional struggles, and ultimately my final result. If you're preparing for NEET or facing similar challenges, this could be a valuable read to motivate and inspire you.

Trial and Tribulation: My Initial Struggles

Leading up to the NEET 2022 exam, life threw me a series of curveballs that made my journey incredibly tough. A tumultuous one-sided love story with a girl I had known for a year added to my mental turmoil. From the very first conversation, I started sensing feelings for her, but by the NEET date, the relationship took an unfortunate turn. This emotional upheaval made it extremely challenging for me to focus on my studies. I even experienced a drop in my mock test scores from around 670-680 to 550-580.

Turning Point: Finding Solace in Exercise and Music

Feeling increasingly depressed and unable to study effectively, I took a different approach to deal with the stress. I resorted to regular exercise to channelize my anger and negativity. Whenever I felt down, I would turn on upbeat songs and workout intensely. By the last week before NEET, I started to sense improvements in my mental state. I could once again score between 620-630. Occasionally, I did manage to achieve scores of 650.

The Day of Truth: My NEET Exam Day

The day of the NEET exam arrived, and I was determined to focus solely on the test objectives. Despite my previous relationship challenges, I ensured that those thoughts didn't interfere with my performance. I scored 675, which I was ecstatic about, as it would secure me a spot in one of the top government colleges in my state. However, after the result announcement, I was shocked to see a drop in my score to 640 due to three OMR (Objective Response Moderation) mistakes in zoology. Had I not made these errors, my score would have been a perfect 675.

Final Reflections

Despite the disappointing score, my parents tried to console me, and eventually, I secured the second-best government college in my state without any reservations. Later, I found out that the girl I had loved had scored 552 and got into a private college with government aid. Even though I was glad she had secured a place, her success only added a bit of sadness to my joy.

This journey has been one of immense personal growth. While I faced my fair share of obstacles, it taught me the importance of resilience and finding healthy ways to cope with stress. If you're in a similar situation, remember that even the most challenging times can lead to growth and success.
