Opting for the Best Teaching Platform: Marrow PrepLadder vs. Dr. Najeeb in MBBS
As a second-year MBBS student who has studied under the tutelage of both Marrow's and Dr. Najeeb's faculties, I offer this first-hand account to assist juniors in making their choice for preparation. This article primarily focuses on the subjects of Pathology and Microbiology.
Pathology
During the initial six months of my second-year MBBS, I studied general pathology and haematology under the guidance of Mrs. Ila Jain Khandelwal from Marrow. Her lectures were meticulously curated, encompassing a rich collection of histopathological images, which were particularly helpful in tackling image-based questions. The separate modules she provided were extremely productive and yielded excellent results.
However, there were certain challenges. The sheer volume of content from Marrow was overwhelming. I found it difficult to manage both the lecture notes and the thorough study of Robbins. Additionally, during my term exams, I struggled to deliver comprehensive answers for higher-point questions such as 10/15 markers.
On the advice of my senior peers, I decided to switch to Mrs. Preeti Sharma's lectures midway through my second year. She is renowned for her unique teaching methods, which made the subject accessible and enjoyable. Her lectures were not only comprehensive but also allowed me to keep up with Robbins. Furthermore, her detailed coverage of cardiovascular and pulmonary pathology was invaluable. These resources were instrumental in my preparation for NEET and my overall performance in pathology, where I secured the highest marks in my university.
Microbiology
Microbiology has always been a challenge for many second-year MBBS students due to its dry and complex nature. During my second term, I barely passed with a score of 51/100, relying heavily on Mrs. Sastri for standard knowledge. However, as the subject became increasingly difficult, particularly in the mid-term, I supplemented my studies with Dr. Preeti Sharma's lectures. Her ability to explain general microbiology in a comprehensible manner made the subject less daunting and abstract. The sections on bacteriology and parasitology were excellent, as they provided a solid foundation for both theoretical and practical learning.
Conclusion
Ultimately, the choice between Marrow PrepLadder and Dr. Najeeb is deeply personal and depends on individual comfort and learning preferences. It's not about which faculty but rather what suits you best.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
