My NEET Preparation Story
My journey to clear NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) was a long and challenging one, spanning over two years. After two failed attempts, I finally succeeded in clearing NEET in my third attempt, achieving a combined score of:
Biology - 311 Physics - 160 Chemistry - 165Class 11 and the Initial Shock
My journey began in Class 11 as a PCM student. Initially, I did not have coaching and my primary focus was on enjoying school life. I did not give much attention to studying for competitive exams and was not sure which field to choose. This mindset changed when I got my Class 12 results, which showed a 92.4% percentile score with CBSE. However, my concepts were solid, but I was unprepared for exams like JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and NEET.
First Attempt: JEE and NEET
Upon completion of Class 12, I attempted JEE Mains and NEET. I scored 70 marks in JEE Mains and 337 marks in NEET. Faced with the realization that I was not suited for JEE, I decided to switch my focus to NEET and join Resonance for my preparation.
Adjustments and Success in NEET 2019
During my first attempt at Resonance, I found that my preparation in mathematics was lacking. This, along with the pressure of JEE Advanced, did not work out well for me. I discussed my situation with my father and decided to take a break. After two months, I shifted my focus to NEET.
With months of hard work and dedication, I managed to score 500 marks in NEET 2019, achieving an Air rank of 49,000. Although I was not able to get admission in GMCMaharastra, this experience helped me realize that my mind was designed for NEET.
Final Attempt and Determination
Fueled by this realization, I decided to give my final attempt. I joined Resonance again and dedicated myself to rigorous preparation. By the end of my preparation, I had completed:
Solved NTA Abhyas 50 tests Completed 8 Resonance full syllabus tests Completed around 34 Allen mock testsThroughout my preparation, I followed a comprehensive study plan that emphasized understanding each word in NCERT books. This was crucial, as every word, whether it's an island, a statement, or an example, plays a vital role. I studied for 16 hours every day, taking a 10-minute break every two hours.
In addition to my studies, I also made sure to take brisk walks and prepare my calendar with morning sun gazing for a few minutes. These breaks were important to keep me motivated and energized.
