Today, Irsquo;ll be diving into the detailed experience of my friendrsquo;s interview for the MBA analytics program at IIM Kashipur. The experience highlighted several key areas and challenges, providing valuable insights for aspiring candidates.

Interview Overview

The interview took place on 12th April 2024 in an online format. My friend, who qualified as a Company Secretary and was semi-qualified as a Chartered Accountant, had diverse academic and professional achievements. Herersquo;s a breakdown of the interview process and the questions posed.

Academic and Professional Background

My friendrsquo;s academic history includes an AVG score of 72.2 in 10th grade, 91.83 in 12th grade, 74.98 in graduation, and 52.10 in CAT. His professional experience includes working as a Senior Audit Manager at T R Chadha Co LLP since January 2018.

Question Breakdown

Panelist 1 (Male):

Tell me about yourself. Why MBA? What do you do in your current job, including clients and hierarchy. Types of depreciation and accounting principles used for depreciation. Formula of integration and differentiation. Tell me some business news. Do you follow the stock market, causes for global chip shortage. What are all the current liabilities and assets of a manufacturer, and how did it solve your business case study. India vs US insurance sector. Challenges faced at the workplace, inputs and outputs provided and taken at challenges. What are all the analytical tools used during the period of work, specifically Demonstrate it with an example of Oracle SAP and its components. Teamwork demonstration, providing an example of a teamwork incident. Your major and minor subjects in school and college, including your maths and statistics marks if you can recall. How does Math and Statistics help in the current development of AI, integrating it with a practical component.

Panelist 2 (Male):

Rural areas have more cancer patients than urban areas, and why could this happen. Prove hypothesis in Pythagoras theorem. Personal finance budget opinion, indifference curve, and can indifference curves and points bisect each other. Economic conditions during the pandemic, how can the problem be mitigated, and how did the government manage the pandemic. Explain why zero has a value, and who invented it. 2 Portfolio Ministers of Uttarakhand 2 Portfolio Ministers of Tamil Nadu, excluding the chief ministers. In what ways the MBA and analytics will help your career grow, considering your Company Secretary and CA qualifications. Why an MBA, given your strong academic background, and who is your favorite teacher. Recent law amendments, legal regulations and their enforcement in the countryrsquo;s prospectus. Why MBA general when finance is your inclination, and what about the specialization in finance or MBA HR as an alternative. Lets talk about your professional qualifications, specifically portfolio optimization.

Panelist 3 (Female):

Sentiment analysis and Net promoter score based SOPs. Definition of factorial, what is 1.5!. Significance of NPV, how to calculate the Weighted Average of a given data. Solve the equation: 4/n1/a1/b1/c where n≥2, a, b, and c are positive integers. Does NPV have any bias. Explain mock theta functions, solve q e-t. Why only Punjab and Haryana are protesting against the laws. Prove y mxc. Riemann Hypothesis, solve this equation: σn ≤ Hn ln HneHn, where n is a positive integer, Hn is the n-th harmonic number, σn is the sum of the positive integers divisible by n. How can firms increase their NPV. Questions on hobbies.

Conclusion

The interview lasted 55 minutes in total. My friend managed to answer approximately 60 to 70 questions but might have missed a few. The interview was quite stressful, but with thorough preparation and confidence, it can be successfully navigated.

The verdict is awaited, crossing fingers for my friendrsquo;s success.
