Can We Learn Something from Each Other?
It is often said that we should face our problems instead of running away from them. My parents always reminded me of this. They taught me that every problem has a solution, it's just a matter of finding it. Over time, I've come to understand the wisdom in their words.
Recently, I've been scrolling through my Quora and YouTube feeds, and I couldn't help but notice how many younger people have achieved much more than I have. Some have their own startups, others work for prestigious music companies, and a few are even authors or have successful travel YouTube channels. These achievements used to bother me, but something changed. Today, I am genuinely happy for people, whether they are older or younger than me, who have achieved all of that in their lives.
On my contact list, there are people who live lives that are a dream come true for me. However, I no longer waste my energy envying their success. Even though I'm just a regular individual, I can still offer a valuable lesson: make peace with where you are in the moment. Ensure you are grateful for the clothes on your body, the three meals a day, and the shelter and education you have. Be thankful for being born to loving parents and having supportive friends.
Every person has their own unique journey. If something is meant to work for you, it will. However, if it's not meant to be, there's no point in wasting your energy feeling envious of others' successes and financial freedom. Instead, focus on becoming your better version, excelling at what you do, so when an opportunity comes, you won’t hesitate to seize it.
Learning from Others
Learning doesn't stop at the boundary of any one person or experience. I have been roofing for less than two months, and I have been working by myself for only two days. I am fortunate to be training under a foreman with 35 years of experience. I have observed good lines and learn that tight lines are necessary. I am a GAF certified installer, and I love this game. Other activities also keep me engaged. My point is that you can acquire a great deal of knowledge from anyone or anything if you pay attention.
In conclusion, the journey of learning and personal growth never stops. We can all benefit from the experiences and lessons of others, whether they are younger, older, or right beside us. Embrace the moments, learn from the process, and continue to strive for your better self.
